Adeche Atelier is a creative studio led by 2 artists - Adwoa & Solomon, specialising in bold, expressive artwork and community-led projects. They collaborated with our young people during their residential to design, draw, and paint a large-scale canvas, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. Here's an interview we did to find out how they found it!

How have you found your experience working in partnership with Enact?

It’s been fulfilling and rewarding. Watching the kids grow in confidence through painting, collaborating, and exploring ideas together was a highlight. Creating something that will be part of them and their space forever felt really meaningful.

What stood out to you about the young people or the community we serve?

The group was wonderfully diverse, with varying skills, confidence, and approaches to the workshop. They were all eager to be there, which speaks volumes about the safe space Enact provides, allowing the children to open up and be themselves.

Were there any moments that felt particularly impactful or memorable?

One child shared that they had never painted before but really enjoyed the experience. The pride on their faces, along with the kids’ overall pride in the finished murals, made it clear how much they valued being part of something so impactful.

How would you describe the Enact team’s approach to working with external partners?

The Enact team is thoughtful and considerate when working with external partners. We had plenty of pre-workshop meetings to ensure we were aligned, and a post-session debrief to reflect on the experience, which was incredibly helpful.

What have you learned or taken away from this collaboration?

Art workshops are powerful tools for enhancing community spirit. Young people thrive in environments that allow them to be open, engage in meaningful dialogue, and express themselves creatively.

Why do you think organisations like Enact are important in the wider community landscape?

Organisations like Enact are essential because they provide safe, affirming spaces where young people can be seen, heard, and celebrated. They offer mentorship, structure, and numerous opportunities for growth, going the extra mile to show how much they care for the kids they serve.
